There are still a few Halloween displays around, but for the most part the scary scarecrows and sound-activated ghosts have been put back in the attic. Already you can see a few flags hanging outside of houses with pictures of the Horn o’ Plenty, or Turkeys.
It certainly means that in a few short weeks folks will be stampeding the grocery stores for stuffing bread, potatoes, and a nice plump turkey.
I am already thinking about the things I am grateful for, even though it’s not quite time to do any carving, or stirring of the gravy. This is the month where we are to give thanks, and I sure feel like my Horn ‘o Plenty is pretty full. I want to make sure before I start the holiday runaround that I count my blessings instead of sheep (err… should I make that poultry, in honor of the month)?
As a NASCAR fan, I am grateful for another year of thrills, spills, and crushing blows. All of the things that made my blood pump furiously, and caused me to scream either in a howling angry kind of way, or pure elation.
To Tony, Hermie, and Terry: THANK YOU. You Are Helping to Light the Way You Say You Never Finish Anything You Start? Lose Your Keys, Glasses, and the Remote All the Time? You Think ‘Disorganized’ is an Adjective That Fits?
