Today, on the late Dale Earnhardt

Apr 29, 03:29 PMThe day that Dale wrecked was the last day I have had any interest in Nascar. He was the greatest driver, father, husband and man to set in a race car. I can’t look at his pictures, statue, or the old races with the 3 car going to the front. Just the mention of his name, makes me feel sad.
I’ll never forget the Daytona race when he was running 2nd and there were 10 laps left and a caution came out. He went into the pits, took on 4 tires and came out 12th. Within 7 laps he was back 2nd but couldn’t make up the last position. Some smart mouth reporter ask him why he came in the pits while running second and only ten laps to go.
“We didn’t come here to run second!!” That was my man Dale Earnhardt.

Apr 29, 11:10 PMI grew up watching Dale Earnhardt race. My parents are both fans of his, so when I was little I watched him too. As I got older, I began to like other drivers too, but I always loved and respected Dale, and I always will. The day he wrecked is one day I will never forget because NASCAR has never been the same since, and will never be the same again. It was like a member of the family dying in my household that day and for a week afterwards. Anything that reminds me of him still brings a tear to my eye, even the mention of the number 3. My grandfather just passed away 3 weeks ago, and he was a huge fan, and I know that he is racing with Dale in Heaven right now. I will never forget the memories Dale gave us on the track. No matter what anyone says, he is the best there was, and the best there will ever be.
RIP Dale and Happy Birthday! I miss you so much!!

Apr 30, 07:07 AMThanks, Caw for posting this. I have so many different drivers that I pull for now trying to make up for that black #3 not being out there on the track. It doesn’t work though, the void is still there. I miss you Dale!

Apr 30, 01:03 PMMy JFK died on the 18th of February, 2001. The world froze – as I stood between the computer and the television, receiving the news at exactly the same time.
And it seems so unfair. My whole family stood screaming at the TV just a few moments earlier…hoping that the 15 car could hold off just a few more laps, rooting for the 8 car, and watching the 3 car do something we never saw before

May 1, 12:41 AMI like so many others, lost my hero on Feb.18,2001.Like I heard someone say, it was like losing a family member, cause we invited him into our home every Sunday. I lost my 13 year old son on July 25,2001. We all lost a part of ouselves on Sept.11,2001. What a terrible, horrible year. Dale is leading the pack in heaven now, and I’m sure my son Cody is there rooting him on. God bless you all.
It might not work for aggressive drivers, but positive reinforcement is a great tool for oppositional kids Next Scramble!

We still miss you Dale and there is not a day that goes by that you are not talked about in our household. RIP and save our spot up there in Heaven so we can see the race in the sky. We love you and always will. Happppy Birthday big guy.
