What is Tourette?
It is a neurological disorder characterized by 'tics'. These are involuntary, rapid, sudden movements or vocalizations that occur repeatedly in the same way.
Some common tics include: eye blinking, throat clearing, facial grimaces, shoulder jerks, grunting, sniffing.
Tics come and go, wax and wane. Onset of tics is usually between 7-9 years of age, and may or may not last a lifetime.
