Pole Sitter: Martin Truex Jr.

HEARTRACERS:

  • Martin Truex Jr.: Martin led 392 of 400 laps setting a record in his win. He was almost unbeatable in the race.
  • Kevin Harvick: Kevin was second in the race. He was close to a win but unable to do it once again.
  • Jimmie Johnson: Jimmie was one of only three other leaders besides Martin Truex Jr. He got another top-five finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
  • Kurt Busch: Kurt got a top-ten finish as one of the best Stewart Hass cars. He has been ok, but not as strong as he was last year.
  • Chase Elliott: Chase was the top rookie again finishing inside the top-ten. He will be almost impossible to beat for Rookie of the Year.
  • Ryan Newman: Ryan finished in tenth place after starting further back in the race. He had a good run.

HEARTBREAKERS:

  • Reed Sorenson: Reed finished in last place with a clutch failure. He could have either had the problem or started and parked.
  • Jeffery Earnhardt: Jeffery finished in 39th place 18 laps down. He was the worst-finishing lapped car in the race. He has been close to the back of the field all year.
  • Kyle Busch: Kyle hit the wall with eight laps to go in the race. He had been running well but ended up retiring.
  • Chris Buescher: Chris had one of his worst finishes of the year in this race back in 37th place. He has done better than that most of the year.
  • Casey Mears: Casey stated inside the top-twenty. He has had good runs all year but he finished six laps in 30th place.
  • Trevor Bayne: Trevor had a good All Star Race weekend. He qualified good for this race but finished five laps down in 25th place.

  • Tony got a top-twenty fifth place finish in NASCAR’s longest race.

HEARTBREAKERS:

  • Tony was unable yet to challenge for a race win this season.
