Racetrack: Bristol Motor Speedway

Pole Sitter: Matt Kenseth

  • Matt Kenseth: Matt won his first race in over a season. He started on pole and capitalized on the mistakes of his challengers to win and get into the Chase.
  • Jimmie Johnson: Jimmie was in the wall and several wrecks in the race. No one thought he could finish second in this race.
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr.: Roush Racing has had trouble in several races this season but Ricky fixed that in this race. He kept his car clean and finished in the top-five.
  • Tony Stewart: Tony has not done well this season or last so far. He really was a factor at the end of this race for the first time in a long time.
  • Justin Allgaier: Justin is in a single-car team. They were running around the back for years and now Justin is taking them towards the front with his top-ten finish.
  • Danica Patrick: Danica is really turning around her career this year meeting the quota of her sponsors. She is improving her racing at every track and avoiding the wrecks. She got another top-ten finish.

  • Team Penske: Both Team Penske drivers Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano crashed into each other early in the race. Joey, who took the most damage, was an innocent bystander. He had the ‘Duke Boys’, John Schneider and Tom Wopat, on hand (as promoters of AutoTrader.com) to root on he and his car, but unfortunately it got wrecked.
  • Kevin Harvick: Kevin seems like a guy that would rarely be on a HeartBreakers’ list. He just got unlucky this week getting in a wreck. He still was running strong, though, until it happened.
  • Kurt Busch: Kurt’s team made a poor decision with the race in their hands to pit with not many laps to go. He got involved in a wreck trying to get back to the front.
  • David Regan: David was very unlucky in Kyle Busch’s ride this week. He got in someone else’s wreck to hurt the good work he was doing in the car.
  • Jeb Burton: Jeb was a slow car around Bristol in the race. If you are that slow in the cycle of cars, you can be in the way. He got into a crash to cause his poor finish.
  • Landon Cassill: Landon was another car in the way multiple laps down in the race. Landon was run over by Kyle Larson, the leader, causing him to crash.

Special Notes:

  • Steve Byrnes: We wish you the best on your battle with cancer from CAWSNJAWS.com.
  • The Duke Boys: After meeting John Schneider and Tom Wopat at the April Steel City Con it was nice to see them kick off the race this week and be a part of Joey Logano’s sponsorship ( Autotrader.com ).

  • It was very nice to see Jeff’s children, Ella and Leo, give the call to start the engines on Sunday.
  • Jeff got his best finish of the year in 3rd place with strategy and attrition.
  • Jeff moved into the top-ten in points.

  • Jeff was not able to win this week.
