Commercial breakdown, driver focus, and links related to the LifeLock 400
Posted by Cheryl Walker under Racing ArticleFor those of you NASCAR fans that like stats and love to hate commercials, here is the breakdown from the race on Sunday afternoon.
I began recording the times at the Invocation at 2:00 PM, and stopped at the waving of the checkered flag at 8:16 PM (all times are EST). I did not keep records for the pre- and post-race coverage.
This race was broadcasted by two networks, ABC and ESPN2, due to lengthy rain delays and cautions. While the race was shortened in length (from 267 laps to 210), it was extended in time (from app. four hours to over six hours) due to all of the delays. We believe the producers of the race should be thanked for filling up what could be awfully dead air time with interesting clips and interviews instead of moving on to other sports or TV shows (as other broadcasters have done); and for the 75 minutes of uninterrupted racing at the end of the race.
Below the commercial breakdown, be sure to check out how often drivers were focused on during the race. Despite Greg Biffle being the winner, he was only showcased 15 times, as opposed to Kurt Busch, who was focused on 38 times.
Throughout the breakdown, you can find links to sponsors, or special items-of-interest such as links to contests and movie sites.

I was right—they ran out of commercials for the last seventy-five minutes. We’ve never seen that before
