For those of you NASCAR fans that like stats and love to hate commercials, here is the breakdown from the race on Sunday afternoon.
Here is my breakdown, thoroughly unprofessional, and, hopefully, easy-to-understand.
I started recording the times as the Invocation for the race was given at 3:27 PM, and stopped at the waving of the checkered flag at 7:39 PM (all times are EST). I did not keep records for the pre- and post-race coverage.
Please note that in addition to all of the following, there is always a company logo visible in the upper right hand corner by the race ticker scrolling across the screen.

Feb 26, 09:52 AMThank you for this information. This allows us to see how much NA$CAR and the ad people think we are idiots to put up with missing almost 1/3 of the race due to ads.

Feb 26, 10:40 AMWe have DIRECTV and that didnt happen. But as for the commercials it seems as if they are adding minutes to the total time of commercials shown throughout the race I mean how many times do we need to see the DLP commercials with Tony Raines we know that is his sponsor. Let me just say that I cant wait to see how TNT does the Pepsi 400 with no commercial breaks there is no way they can pull that off I guarntee that there will be at least 4 or 5 commercial breaks during the running of the Pepsi 400 at Daytona.
Thanks, LORNE

Feb 26, 12:38 PMWell, I have finally found the way to make watching/listening to a Cup race bearable….
I tune into MRN and mute the TV…..I have Trackpass up and running and then once in a while I turn on the TV volume…but frankly I don’t care to hear Darryl or Hammond comment on ANY situation; although, I must say I find Hammond’s explanations about the mechanics of a race car interesting.
I was excited about ESPN taking over for NBC, but it has become readily apparent that Mr. Ego Wallace and Mr. “Try as hard as I may, I am no good at this” Andy Petree are ruining Dr. Punch. And who is this Brad “Mr. Basketball” Daugherty….you know, the guy with the prepared questions for the “experts”….did ESPN run out of basketball announcer slots and needed somewhere to put him? Lord help us!
Question…Does Brent Muffbooger really want to be involved with this ESPN racing deal? I think not…can’t you tell!
Again, if the networks got rid of 1/2 the people and the new Hollywood Hotel, they wouldn’t have to sell so much commercial time and the races would be a lot more bearable for TV viewing.
Missing NASCAR In Car…no dish!

Feb 26, 03:23 PMI am glad that you are doing the breakdown of commercials. There used to be a site called motorsportsTV.com that broke down not only the commercials, but the way the drivers celebrated in victory lane. It was run by Mike McCarthy, who was hired by NASCAR in 2004 and we haven’t heard from him since.
Be careful, they may be coming after you next! LOL!

Yesterday during the NASCAR race, we were having difficulty getting the
FOX feed into the building via satellite because of the storm conditions
and the ice on our FOX satellite dish. There was no one here at that
time to fix the problem and the weather prevented them from getting here
in a timely manner. I apologize for the problems and we are working to
fix the situation so it never happens again.Again, I am so sorry this occurred and we will work diligently get
everything under control for the rest of the season. Thank you for your
comments.

Hi
Just wondering if you might think about including any major outage problems. I get my TV signal from DIRECT TV. Our signal became disrupted sound and picture problems about 10 minutes or more prior to the 8th caution. The we got a message on the screen “Please do not call”. We are having a problem, etc. Bottom-line, that’s all that we saw or heard until the race was over when they came back on just before Kenseth climbed out of his car. There was no mention of a problem by the announcers. I can only guess we missed from atleast 7 PM.
Thanks, TED
